Halina

In tagalog, halina means irresistible charm, but as a verb, it could also mean “come/ come on”. As industrialization continues to thrive, our society tend to be occupied, while becoming less and less concerned about the essence of our environment. The proposed mural evokes an idea for every Filipinos, from street vendors, usual cruisers, random passengers, walking students or workers, and so on, to appreciate the surroundings more, to take care of it, and to encourage them to create a beautiful society that embraces nature— where flora and fauna, like the stray grass, mosses, street flowers, dragonflies, marine life, coexists with us. The picture would show an adult sibling demonstrating to his younger sister how to garden in an ordinary boulevard. This generation must take responsibility upon implanting, to the young particularly, awareness and empathy for these natural abundance. We must not take it for granted.

Sa Loob, Sa Labas

Brief Statement/Philosophy
The series is about spiritual sensitivity. The digital work are ought to deviate from natural perception of things. It represents a sanctuary—bounded inside and outside—where we most linger to contemplate. When we are receptive yet unconscious to the energies of things, the sensation becomes intimate, we transform our vision, and thus constantly transform our selves. There are things in our own solitary world that flourish upon our naked senses, that apparently reveal the most special and bizarre feeling amongst us. Vintage colours with lines overlaid in the hue of rose represent a psychedelic sensation or a nostalgia from what we merely see or feel.
“If this is all we find there, we have missed the thing most worth finding.” (R.G. Collingwood)

#PHVote: Siya na ba talaga?

Brief Statement/Philosophy
It is our essential duty to establish our freewill and our capacity to make a better and lovelier world, how? In a small step towards big change, we must cast our votes to a worthy leader. We have to decide and work for the sake of the whole— to choose responsibly. Henceforth we may ask again, "siya na ba talaga?"

Description
Why is it necessary to have our votes counted? Why do we have to choose the right leader? We as the youth, expressed through lively and festive colours thereupon, have a significant role in our society; thus being an asset must commit our roles responsibly and productively. These worthy distinctions are portrayed in every detail of the mural. The leading color behind text signifies the color of power, authority, and integrity. The entirety reflects absolute and collective movement.
